Botox is a great way to slow down the aging process and prevent any future wrinkles. However, due to our bodies naturally breaking down botox- they only last for about 4 to 6 months. A common question we get at Lymphatic Massage is how to maintain the botox so that the effects will last longer.
Here are some tips:
Stay hydrated. Drinking water and moisturizing your face in the morning and at night will keep your face plump and wrinkle free.
Practice clean eating, but maintain your weight. Avoid eating fatty and sugar-filled foods to keep your skin healthy. However, extreme weight loss can reduce effectiveness of Botox in your face- so maintain your weight.
Avoid hot temperature environments for the first 24 hours of receiving Botox. Intense workouts, being out in the sun, or being in any other very hot environment can cause botox to spread to other areas of the face- leading to various unwanted issues.
Wear SPF! Sun damage causes wrinkles to produce in the skin- so wearing sunscreen during times of high UV rays will help to protect your botox and skin.
